Daphne Public Safety Employees Association

"We, the members of the Daphne Public Safety Employees Association, come together in a partnership to improve our quality and way of life, by making a dedicated effort to promote happiness, teamwork, morale, and a sense of belonging as a family, for our members, by our members."

Our organization, D.P.S.E.A., was founded in 1997 when several of our members thought it would be beneficial to gather all the city's public safety employees together for more than just work-oriented activities. At this time, our membership is strong and growing and encompasses the following employees of the City of Daphne; police officers, corrections officers, communications officers, school traffic officers, animal control officers, fire department personnel, and administrative staff.

We intend to reach out to the community of Daphne as much as possible with our service, in whatever form it takes, to get the job done. Since forming in 1997, we have provided financial assistance to residents of Daphne in need of clothing, food, heaters, school uniforms and shoes. We have helped needy families provide Christmas for their children and provided financial assistance to police officers injured in the line of duty as well as to other law enforcement agencies and families who experienced loss due to bad weather or fire.

D.P.S.E.A. is a non-profit group which relies on money donated by citizens, the annual assessment of $12 per member, and fund raisers sponsored by the members.
